You are tired all the time and your hands and feet are like ice cubes.  You lack the physical and mental strength needed to get through your day. Thick, fuzzy socks, scarves, and mittons are your favorite accessories because you hate being cold.  You need a tropical vacation, lots of rest, and plenty of hot, meaty soup or stew to help you recover.

Possible Symptoms:

  • cold or pale hands and/or feet

  • severe mental & physical exhaustion

  • lack of strength or drive

  • generalized weakness

  • swelling

  • missed periods

  • diarrhea

Causes:

  • Excessive stress or physical overwork

  • Chronic lack of sleep

  • Excessive worry, anxiety, fear or overthinking

  • Excessive sexual activity

  • Giving birth frequently

  • Chronic illness

  • Eating too many cold/raw foods or dairy products

  • Eating late at night or when in a hurry

Helpful Tips:

  • Eat warm meals, soups and stews.

  • Eat congee or oatmeal for breakfast.

  • Sleep a minimum of 8 hours per night and go to bed before 10 pm.

  • Avoid cold, frozen and raw food and drinks.

  • Manage stress by getting regular acupuncture.

Best foods to eat:
  • Meat: goat, kidney, lamb, mutton, venison

  • Seafood: anchovies, lobster, mussels, prawns, shrimp, trout

  • Vegetables: corn, leeks

  • Starches/grains: quinoa

  • Nuts/seeds: chestnuts, pistachios, walnuts

  • Herbs/spices: aniseed, basil, cardamom, cinnamon bark, clove, dill seed, fennel seed, fenugreek seed, garlic, dried ginger, nutmeg, rosemary, sage, savory, star anise, thyme
